Simple and cost-effective for onsite testing

Veriflow® is ideally suited for onsite testing in the food and beverage industry – with a modest capital investment and affordable per-test cost.

  • No DNA purification required
  • Easy sample preparation
  • Hands-on time is less than 30 minutes
  • Can be completed by existing staff with minimal training
  • Unsurpassed reliability and accuracy across a wide spectrum of microbes

Simplified workflow with rapid results

Laboratory workflow can be readily adapted to incorporate Veriflow rapid detection, in both small labs and high-volume operations. Depending on the target organism, the protocol requires only three or four steps in 4 hours or less. Samples can be held in process in the Veriflow Thermocycler for hours, even overnight, if required.

Components of the Veriflow system

Test kit

Test kits unique to each target organism consist of proprietary Mastermix reagents and buffers with easy to use pre-aliquoted PCR tubes, media, sample tubes, and disposable test cassettes. The test cassette reveals test results in less than 3 minutes. There are 24 tests per kit.

Veriflow Thermocycler

The compact, customized Veriflow Thermocycler meets the highest criteria in thermal performance at twice the speed and half the size of other thermocyclers. Novel technical advances enable DNA amplification in under 2 hours, depending on the assay. The Thermocycler is pre-programmed, with intuitive touch screen interface, and can hold samples post-amplification overnight if desired. With a 96 sample capacity, the Thermocycler can run different tests at the same time maximizing workflow efficiencies.

Test cassette

Following the DNA amplification cycle, contents of the PCR reagent tube are dispensed onto the test cassette window. After 3 minutes, the switch is retracted to reveal test results in the window. The simplicity of results analysis is unmatched: one line indicates negative and two lines indicates positive. For Invisible Sentinel’s spoilage organism tests, semi-quantitative results are displayed in the cassette window, as represented by the intensity of the second positive test line. Ranging from faint pink to bright red, the increased intensity of the line indicates a higher concentration of cells per milliliter.

Veriflow Reader – optional equipment

For detection of spoilage organisms, especially in beer brewing and wine making, Invisible Sentinel assays yield semi-quantitative results on the cassette. The level of contamination, expressed in ranges of cells/mL, can be critical information to determine appropriate remediation steps. The Veriflow Reader enables precise cell quantification in every test, and the ability to track, store, and export test data.
